Mother's Month (yep, I feel like I was celebrating Mother's Day all month long) is ended and I am just overwhelmed at the past month. Sobrang daming nangyari! Iñigo's birthday celebrations, my first blog workshop, a lot of work for blog clients, a lot of work for Baby Magazine—all that on top of my daily duties as mom and wife. I don't think I breathed at all the past four weeks!!!
While it feels like a blur, I'm glad I have many snapshots of the past wonderful and exhausting month. My husband has dozens of beautiful photos taken by his Olympus and I really ought to share those with you, but what I do have that's quick to access, to share and to savor are the photos on my Instagram. Here are my favorites this month:
Heehee, it's almost all Iñigo in the photos!
Vito has some understanding of social media now and most times, I have to ask his permission to post his photos, sometimes even to take his photos. Piero, meanwhile, is a whirlwind of movement and so it's really hard to get a photo of him that isn't blurry. Good thing I still have Iñigo who loves the camera!
I'm so happy there's Instagram. Thanks, SMART, for the iPad Mini and iPhones and an Internet connection I can rely on!!! My life as a mother, a wife, a friend and a freelance writer and editor has really changed (in fact, it is made possible!) by the fact that I have amazing gadgets and a reliable connection to the outside world. The one drawback? I'm addicted to Facebook and Instagram!
I actually came late to the Instagram game and I'm not even good at it. Apparently, styled photos and beautifully staged moments attract a bigger audience. Nothing wrong with that! That's how the game is played, I just happen to be obstinate and maybe even old. As with blogging, I'm just on Instagram to share my life. I'm not on social media to inspire or to teach or to be a good example. I'm just here to celebrate my happy, chaotic, messy, wonderful, amazing life! And if anyone wants a peek, you're welcome! Because that's also another reason why I blog and am sharing away on Facebook or showing photos of my kids on IG—I want to be honest and personal, to make friends, to see your life, too, as you see mine, and mine may not always be pretty but it's always full of love!
