The fun continues! The next day at Taal Vista, the clouds cleared up enough to give us a better view of Tagaytay's most famous attraction. (The volcano within the lake within the volcano within the lake, in case you didn't know!)
But it was still really foggy and cold so we bundled up the boys before we headed out for breakfast.
Taal Vista's breakfast buffet is excellent. Tons of warm bread, crispy cereal, fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs any way you want, rich jams, jellies, marmalades and sauces, steaming rice, mountains of bacon and sausages and adobo, and taho!
Sigh! Every breakfast should be that delicious. I loved every bite. So did Vince. So did our kids. Plus, make sure you ask for the tsokolate-ah. Yes, it's not a very thick chocolate drink but it is sooo good. I prefer it to the thick one, which coats my throat in a bad way. Anyway, look at the boys loving their breakfast!
After our big breakfast, Vince took off for a run. He was super looking forward to running in Tagaytay. The weather was being gloomy again but he was determined to go running. He came back later super drenched, energized and happy with his run. Yey!
While he was out, we went to the Kiddie Center. It was nice and cozy. The kids loved it!
On our way back to Café on the Ridge for lunch, we passed by the lobby. Lotsa people checking in! And this was a weekday. A stormy weekday! I wonder how the hotel is like during weekends! Business is good.
This is me and Ro Manalo, the director of marketing communications for SM hotels. She's also been my friend since 2002! We both started out in Summit Media as PR associates. She handled the adult magazines (FHM, Entrepreneur, Cosmo, Preview, Good Housekeeping, Yes!) while I handled the kiddie titles (Candy, Seventeen, W.I.T.C.H., K-Zone, Total Girl). She and I have been through a lot! Then we lost touch when she left Summit and I got married.
It was really nice to catch up, Ro! Let's do this more often. You work so near my house na. Come visit!!!
Anyway, back to Taal Vista. Check out the ceiling. That's timber-frame and a steeped ceiling. It's an architecture style called Tudor Revival. This is what inspired the hotel's logo, by the way.

That's Iñigo. He loved the lobby. He really took his not-so-wobbly legs out for some major walking, climbing and running! He was zipping here and there. (Vince and Vito stayed in our room after lunch.)
Meanwhile, I was just enjoying the beautiful lobby café. The chairs are so gorgeous! And most importantly, they're comfortable. Very inviting. I just wanted to spend the entire afternoon sipping hot tea and nibbling on cakes and biscuits.
I loved this corner best. I imagined that I wanted my dream home to have a corner exactly like this just for me. I'll write there and dream there and have long talks with my husband and my kids and my friends there. It's beautiful.
Well, I can wait for that dream house to become real. Meanwhile, my children and I get to go on adventures! Iñigo was tired by the time he joined Celine, Ro and me. Then off he went back to our room while I had a massage at Asmara Spa.
But I'll write about my spa experience and our amazing dinner next. I got tired blogging haha But check back here soon. Remember: I'm going to do a giveaway so make sure you follow our Taal Vista adventure!
